Voted NO on Abortion Rights.

On multiple occasions, Jack Martins was the deciding vote against the Reproductive Health Act,1 which protects abortion access in New York.

“Martins said he…opposed codifying federal abortion rights into state law.”

Even in 2016, as Donald Trump promised to appoint Supreme Court Justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade, Martins continued to defend his NO vote to deny protections for reproductive rights in New York.

And his bad voting on choice has continued.

Since his election in 2022, he's also voted against:

With Roe overturned, abortion rights are no longer safe.

We can’t trust someone who won’t protect a woman’s right to choose in the State of New York.

Voted NO on Common Sense Gun Legislation

This year Jack Martins voted against common sense legislation to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals.1 Including legislation that would authorize police officers to take away firearms after a domestic or family violence incident.

We know the stakes and we’ve read the headlines.

Violent and high-risk individuals should not have access to dangerous weapons. Martins is also backed by the far-right wing Conservative Party2 which opposes any efforts to limit concealed carry laws.3

And when Martins had the opportunity to fund common sense gun violence prevention programing, he voted NO.4

Martins may claim he's for reforms, but his record and his supporters say otherwise!

Voted NO on Increasing School Funding

Jack Martins joined his far-right colleagues in Albany to vote against fully funding our local public schools on multiple occasions.

We send millions of taxpayer dollars to Albany, expecting those dollars to be invested back into our community and Jack Martins won’t fight to ensure our children get their fair share.
